Best Drugstore Makeup?

If I could afford a makeup collection of only MAC, Urban Decay, Lancome and other expensive department store brands you bet I would have one in a heart beat!
Unfortunately while there is no arguing with the quality these cosmetics can be expensive and often put a big dent in your wallet in one trip to the mall.

Do drugstore brands compare? Can you get a great $8.00 Eyeshadow quad that gives the $30+ eyeshadow quads from the department stores a run for their money?

You bet you can!

While the color selection may be limited drugstore cosmetics brands do carry some amazing treasures for less!

Let me take you through my top cosmetic picks from drugstores.

Brushes
Brushes have got to be amongst the most expensive cosmetic items to acquire...did you know a single M.A.C brush can run you almost $60.00, an eye brush can run up to $35.00!
The good news is that there are excellent brushes out there for a fraction of the cost!
Ecotools is a great brand! Their brush handles are made from bamboo, they are a cruelty free company with all their brushes being made from synthetic material rather than animal hair. These are some of the softest brushes I own, they do an amazing job at giving you that true smokey eye and blending your eyeshadow. The powder brush is so light on even the most sensitive skin!

The small set with the Kabuki brush is $10.99 at Rite Aid stores
The taller set is $12.99

Posh Brushes, available at Longs drugs and Kmart, these brushes have an appealing red handle, very soft and durable. I especially love the blush brush. A travel set will cost you $14.99 other than that the brushes range in price from $3.99 - $16.99

Eyeshadows

Probably the most popular cosmetic item! Who doesn't love buying new eyeshadows on a regular basis? I strongly recommend, Physicians formula and Loreal, although they are the most pricier of the drugstore brands you can purchase eyeshadow sets from these two brands for as little as $7.00. With the new H.I.P line, Loreal especially has an awesome color range.

However, my favorite cheapest drugstore eyeshadows have to be Jesse's girl!

Their eyeshadows are so pigmented and have amazing color pay off. They will run you anywhere from $3.00-6.00. They also have the most extensive pigment collection of all drugstore brands. Available at rite aid or through the Jesse's Girl website.

Lip products

My favorite lip product ever has to be lip gloss, I just cant get enough and I have a drawer full to prove it!
The queen of lip gloss at drugstores has got to be Sally Hansen, they have moisturizing lip glosses ranging from matte to shimmery to extra sparkly lip glosses! My favorite has got to be the Lipnotic line, these amazing lip glosses are so sparkly and perfect for summer! Very comparable to M.A.C's dazzleglass! Lip glosses range in price from $5.00-$8.00 or more depending on the drugstore.

Another great drugstore lip gloss brand? Again Jesse's girl! With the new formulas and lip gloss shades they are coming up with this brand has huge potential, I am watching it closely. I promise a more in depth review on Jesse's girl on my blog in the future.

Foundations
Revlon has some of the best foundations from drugstores. Their Colorstay foundation offers great coverage and can be worn by most skin types. Following closely is Loreal, the great thing about Loreal is that you are pretty much guaranteed to find your shade with their True Match collection. The liquid true match offers great coverage although beware of using too much as it can make you look greasy and cakey.

Blush
For whatever reason, finding a great blush at a drugstore tends to be a challenge. However, I have found great ones from Physicians Formula, very pretty bronzed blushes and pinks as well as mauves... now if I could only find that perfect peachy shade...

This is all i have for now but I promise to be back with more!

Thank you guys for reading!
