Introducing My Jewelry Line

Up to now what you know about me is that I am obsessed with makeup. However my obsessions pan out beyond the world of mascara and eyeshadow. I also have a love and obsession for jewelry, the sparkly, the trendy, the fashion forward, the fine, all of it!

With my love for jewelry and my ever growing jewelry collection and my ever shrinking bank account I quickly learned to make my own. On a trip to Mexico in 2004 my oldest sister took jewelry making classes, I never attended these classes but I learned by watching her. She quickly abandoned her new hobby and I took it up. At first it was just a hobby, another way of letting my creative self shine through in the form of earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

I was 19 and working in a call center, I found myself with absolutely no money at all for the first time. Being in debt with my parents, siblings and friends already I didn't dare ask anyone for money. Instead I reached into my sister jewelry making supplies and stayed up late one night making as many pairs of earrings as I could.

I took them to work the next day and nervously showed them to my co-workers, to my surprise they were quite impressed and I sold out! With money to buy gas I was satisfied. I realized however that I had more than a hobby at hand, that my hobby could pay off. I proceeded to make more and more jewelry and eventually earned myself the title jewelry artist.

Five years later I still love creating jewelry, I opened a shop on Etsy in June of 2007 and began shipping my jewelry worldwide! Misfortune happened when I unfairly lost my job at a different company over a concern I brought up with the "Human Resources Department". Fortunately, however I had a steady customer base both on and offline. I did many custom orders that came with big paychecks.

In September of 2008 I went back to a behind the desk job. Although I loved making jewelry the new job took a toll on my personal life making it difficult to concentrate on anything but the job. I eventually took a hiatus from my jewelry making and for 8 months my customers wondered what had happened to my jewelry line.

Misfortune happened again when I was laid off in May of 2009 due to the recession. With free time again I decided to open shop on Etsy again. I let my offline customers know I was back and sales quickly started happening in person again. On Etsy the story has been a bit different. The jewelry category is more saturated than ever making it nearly impossible to stay above the rest. However I know I have a loyal customer base on Etsy also that will be back to purchase come the holiday season.

So it is without further Ado that I introduce the readers of my blog to my handcrafted jewelry line. To purchase please click here.
